We liked the way the options were presented to us. The information was helpful and plentiful.

Volunteering

Volunteers are the Pregnancy Care Centre’s most valuable resource. Because we are committed to upholding a high level of care for our clients, all potential volunteers undergo a screening and interview process, including criminal record and reference checks. The Centre is an environment where volunteers are continually challenged to learn and grow. Our peer counsellors and receptionists are required to take a 21 hour training seminar and undergo a minimum 6 week orientation before seeing clients one-on-one.

Dates for Volunteer Training in 2012 are as follows:

  • January 12th to March 1st - Thursday mornings from 9:00am - 12:00pm
  • March 8th to April 26th - Thursday evenings from 6:00pm-9:00pm
  • May 3rd to June 21st - Thursday mornings from 9:00am - 12:00pm
  • September 13th to November 1st - Thursday mornings from 9:00am - 12:00pm
  • November 8th to January 3rd - Thursday mornings from 9:00am - 12:00pm

Pregnancy Care Centre volunteers are highly committed, compassionate people who make a big difference in the lives of our clients. If you want to know how you can get involved please contact us: 403.343.1611 or info@pregnancycare.ca

Other volunteer opportunities that do not involve client contact are available. Completion of the volunteer training seminar is not required for these opportunities which may include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning
  • Yardwork
  • Painting
  • Mailouts (folding/stuffing)
  • Help with fundraising events (Walkathon, Baby Bottle Campaign, Fundraising Banquet, etc.)

Consider getting your family, friends, small group or youth group together for a service project.
